The 2005 Best Islamic Banks poll created a benchmark for the industry, providing the global Islamic finance sector with its maiden industry driven independent bank ranking.
The poll received a total of 1,015 votes submitted by the world’s Islamic corporate issuers, Government bodies and non-banking financial intermediaries.
A total of 24 categories were contested including Best Overall Provider of Islamic Financial Services, Most Innovative Islamic Bank, Best New Islamic Bank, Best Central Bank in Promoting Islamic Finance and Best Provider of Islamic Finance in each country where the industry has a major presence.
